Expressing your thoughts, feelings and ideas about a particular topic can be done in various ways. For some, speaking about it works; for a few others, drawing to represent it creatively works; and for some others, writing about it is what works best. Giving speeches, reciting poems, taking part in debates and group discussions are a few ways to express your ideas through speech. Writing about a particular topic can be done either by writing an essay, a descriptive or narrative piece, an article or a letter.

Among these, article writing is one of the most influential ways to express your thoughts. An article is a piece of writing which explains in detail about a particular topic by giving examples and aims to reach a huge audience. Articles are usually published in newspapers, magazines, online portals/websites that are designed specifically for this purpose and so on.

Writing an article requires a lot of research and writing skills. Getting your audience to read your article solely depends on how you have presented your article. Being creative and reader-oriented are qualities that you should surely possess if you want to write good and interesting articles. Another important aspect one has to take care of when writing articles is a good language. Error-free writing is the key. Above all, make sure you learn about the topic extensively before you start writing the article. Do not provide information that is wrong or not verified. One main factor that you have to consider is the way in which your article would appeal to different audiences. Do not write something that would be offensive or hurtful to any group of people. Proofread your article for any possible grammatical errors before you send it for publication.

What can you include in your article? An article can be descriptive, narrative, expository, argumentative or persuasive. According to the type of article you are writing, you can include facts, figures, examples, anecdotes, descriptions, graphical representations, pictures, etc. For instance, if you are writing an article on air pollution, you can write about the factors that cause air pollution, the harmful effects of air pollution, facts and figures about the rise in air pollution and the number of people affected because of inhaling polluted/contaminated air, etc. You can even write slogan on air pollution to sensitise the people about the need to curb air pollution. It is the normal tendency of human beings to believe what has already happened rather than to believe random statements about a particular issue. So, you can refer to real-time incidents that highlight the ways in which human beings around the world suffer as a result of being in continuous contact with polluted air. This will definitely get the attention of your readers.  You can also witness a change in their way of thinking. Knowingly or unknowingly, they will be conscious of the hazards of air pollution every time they see smoke coming out of an industrial chimney and automobiles, a forest fire or plastic/garbage on fire and try to avoid staying in contact. They would rather shield themselves from any sort of exposure to polluted or contaminated air.
